The client ‘s individual departments were in silos making it impossible to track, hence impacting profitability. Their Purchase to Production, Production to Retail, Retail to Finance were not in sync impacting business critical decisions. Their main challenge was integrating their Production units with their 55 Retail showrooms. As they produced dough in their units and shipped them to retail units, where it was baked, sold to end users and it needed offline and online sync. They had to solely rely on manual data inputs to track their productivity and sales, thus resulting in delayed reports, data inaccuracy and data duplication.

Solution Offered

After conducting a detailed system study we suggested the client a two pronged approach to solve their existing pain areas. Primarily we suggested that the client use SAP Business One ERP in an individual server, for their backend operations like Finance, Accounts, Administration, Purchase, Logistics and Production, thus integrating the silos of departments in their head office within a single database which would bridge their primary gap of Purchase to Production.

Secondly we suggested a Point of sales application (PoS) for their retail outlets across India in an individual server at their head office and the retail units accessing the PoS database through internet based web PoS application. Then integrating the SAP Business One Server with the PoS application server which would bridge the gap between Production to Retail and Retail to Finance.

Post implementation of SAP Business One and PoS applications the three primary pain areas of Purchase > Production, Production > Retail, Retail > Finance were addressed along with other ancillary benefits like integrating their business partner master (customer and vendor), sales, stock transfer, inventory management, indent management and SMS modules (customers and retail outlets). This implementation has resulted in providing hassle free smooth process, data integrity, real time reports to the client ensuring profitability and making critical business decisions easy.
